1869 James MacDonald

Sentenced to death for the murder of James Nailey, a fellow labourer on the Macclesfield and Bollington railway. After some heavy drinking there was a disagreement, and MacDonald plunged a knife into Naileys neck and he died almost instantly. Commuted to life imprisonment.
