Frederick Wood 1923

Margaret White lived in a Villa in Acre Lane Bramhall with her brother. On December 18th 1922 when he returned home from work he discovered his sister stangled in the house. Several chairs were in the process of being re-upholstered, and the business card of Frederick Wood was found on the mantelpiece. Wood gave himself up to police when he saw his name in the papers. He claimed that Miss White had strangled herself whilst having a fit, and that he felt he would be suspected, so he took money to enable him to get away from the area.
Found guilty he was hanged at Liverpool on April 10th 1923 by John Ellis.
